DeLand, Fla. – Stetson University women's basketball head coach Lynn Bria announced the signing Tuesday of Jordan Cloutier (Naples, Fla./Gulf Coast High School) and Bianca Fizouaty (Lawrenceville, Ga./Grayson High School) to National Letters-of-Intent.
"Both Jordan and Bianca will be impact players for us," Bria said. "I know there are only two of them, but it is arguably the best freshman class we have ever had since I have been here. I don't think we could have found two better guards. I think they are two of the best in the country; I think they are really that good. They know the game. They play hard. They play tough."
Cloutier, a 5-7 guard, averaged 18.1 points per game and hit 47 3-pointers as a junior for Gulf Coast High School last season. She helped lead the Sharks to a 27-3 record, a conference, district, and region championship, and the school's first appearance in the Class 8A state final four. Cloutier scored 435 points on the season and averaged 2.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.1 steals.
Coupled with her career at the Community School of Naples, Cloutier has scored over 1300 points in three seasons.
"Jordan can flat out shoot the ball," Bria said. "She has a quick release. She might be one of the best shooters we ever brought here. She can also get the ball down, and her handles are really good. She is a tough, strong kid."
Fizouaty, a 5-9 guard, averaged 11 points per game her junior season for Grayson High School. She earned all-region honors after helping lead her team to the regional quarterfinals of the state tournament.
Fizouaty also played for Nike club Team Elite (Atlanta), which won back-to-back AAU Nike EYBL National Championships.
"Bianca is a very athletic," Bria said. "She can not only shoot it but she can really take it off the bounce and score. Both Bianca and Jordan just have really good savvy and good court sense.
"I think Daniel Barber has done a great job," Bria added about the Hatters' recruiting coordinator. "He worked really hard to help us get those kids. He got on them early, and that is the mark of a great recruiter. We recruit collectively as a staff, but he did an outstanding job. I think it is an incredible class."
Stetson (1-1) will host Chattanooga (0-2) at 5 p.m. Wednesday night.
