Brittney Chambers Named ASUN Player of the Week

DeLand, Fla. -- Following a career-high 26-point performance last Wednesday in a win over Chattanooga, Stetson University senior guard Brittney Chambers has been named the ASUN Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.

Chambers started the game on fire, hitting eight of her first nine shots from the floor to help lift Stetson to a 50-25 halftime lead. She had 19 points at the break and reached the 25-point mark by the end of the third quarter, marking the highest scoring total by a Hatter in two seasons.

Chambers finished the game 10-for-14 from the field and 5-for-6 from the free throw line. She also recorded three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

A native of Orlando, Fla., Chambers currently leads the league in scoring (17.7 ppg) and ranks third in field goal pct. (.583). It is her first ASUN Player of the Week honor after earning three Newcomer of the Week awards last season.

The Hatters (2-1) tip-off with Wright State (2-1) at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Savannah Invitational.
