Megan Vincent Named ASUN Freshman of the Week

Vincent helps lead Stetson to a Hatter Classic sweep

DeLand, Fla. -- Stetson women's basketball center Megan Vincent has been named the ASUN Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Vincent averaged 6.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.5 assists per game to help lead Stetson to a sweep of the Hatter Classic last week. She recorded eight points, a career-high eight rebounds and three blocks in Wednesday's 72-67 win over Richmond. She then collected five points, five boards and a career-high four blocks in Thursday's 61-54 win over Texas State. Vincent's seven blocks on the week brings her ASUN-leading total to 25 on the season.

A native of Keller, Texas, Vincent is averaging 3.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.8 blocks-per-game this season.  She has played in all 14 games, averaging over 21 minutes per contest.

Vincent is Stetson's third Freshman of the Week winner this season.  Michelle Pruitt was selected on Nov. 14 and Sydney Wagner was tabbed on Nov. 28.

The Hatters (8-6) will return to action this weekend at the FAU Holiday Classic.  Stetson will face UMKC at 2:30 p.m. Friday and either FAU or Delaware State on Saturday.
