Hatters Fall to No. 10 Florida State

Brittney Chambers leads with 19 points

Tallahassee, Fla. -- Brittney Chambers scored 19 points, but the rest of the Hatters combined for just 20 as 10th-ranked Florida State defeated Stetson 84-39 Thursday night at the FSU Tucker Center.

The Hatters (6-5) shot just 24.6 percent from the floor and were outrebounded 46-26.

"It was not a good game for us.  I am a little disappointed," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said.  "In the first half, I thought we did a really good job of not giving them transition baskets and turning them over a little bit.  We didn't make anything the whole game, though.  When you play a team like (Florida State), you have to make some outside shots, and we didn't make them."

AJ Alix hit five three pointers and scored 19 points to lead the Seminoles (9-0), who stayed perfect on the season.  FSU shot 53.8 percent for the game and had five players in double figures.

"It just wasn't our day today," Bria said.  "I thought Florida State did a really good job and kept attacking."

Chambers extended her double figure scoring streak to a season-long 11 games (17 dating back to last year).  She hit two 3-pointers and was 5-for-6 from the line.

The loss snapped Stetson's three-game win streak.

The Hatters will break for final exams and return to action Dec. 16 vs. Western Kentucky.
