Stetson Football announces the 2023 season schedule. The Hatters will have 6 home games at Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand.
Â
This will be the Hatters' 11
th season since bringing back the football program, Stetson will be at home throughout the month of September with three home games.
Â
"We are excited about Spring football and the opportunity to get better and improve upon our 4-6 mark from this past season. The goal of spring practice this year is to establish a new identity on offense, and reestablish our ATTACKING identity on defense. We also want to find out what we are able and do well; while remaining healthy at the end. This will be extremely exciting as we will have new faces on our coaching staff and our players on the field.  We are looking for
Rassie Littlejohn and Nana Burris to emerge as leaders of the team," said head coach
Brian Young. "I am exceedingly excited to reunite with Coach Norman Joseph, and to have him here at Stetson. He will bring a more versatile ATTACK for our offense this season. Defensively, I will be more involved in pushing our aggressive demeanor on defense. We look forward to all your support this season and seeing you at multiple games at Spec-Martin. GO HATS!!"
Â
The Hatters will open with home games against St. Thomas University on September 2 followed by Webber International University (Sept. 9) at home. Next the Hatters head to Big Sky Country to play Montana State University (Sept. 16) before they begin PFL competition back at home vs Butler (Sept. 23). The Hatters will end the month of September with an away game against Marist (Sept. 30) in New York.
Â
Stetson will be traveling to Bozeman, Montana this season to face Montana State University. This will be Stetsons first time meeting the Montana State Bobcats. The Bobcats are a perennial force in the FCS division and have won three national championships.
