Colclough Helps Lift Hatters Past Delaware State

Francis, Tully Provide Spark off the Bench

Boca Raton, Fla. -- Kennedi Colclough scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help lead Stetson to a 58-43 victory over Delaware State Saturday afternoon in the final game of the FAU Holiday Classic.

Colclough was 8-for-12 from the floor and added four assists to earn a spot on the all-tournament team.

"Kennedi's stat line was tremendous today," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said.

The Hatters (9-7) played with more energy Saturday and got a nice spark off the bench from both Re'Nique Francis and Jordan Tully.  Francis entered in the second quarter With the Hornets (1-12) leading 22-16 and helped the Hatters finish the half on a 6-0 run.

Tully then helped get Stetson off to an 8-0 start to begin the third quarter.  She finished the game with a career-high 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting and pulled down four rebounds.

"I thought Jordan had an excellent game today," Bria said.  "She did a lot of good stuff for us, so I was very very pleased with her, and 'Nique' stepped in and did some good stuff defensively and got some rebounds.  So we had some people that we typically don't play that I thought did an outstanding job of taking advantage of an opportunity."

McKenna Beach added 13 points while Brittney Chambers finished with nine points and nine rebounds.

With the victory, the Hatters completed the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 9-7 record.

"I think we are better than we were, but we are still very inconsistent in what we do," Bria said, evaluating the first half of the season.  "I think we just have to get more consistency. Part of it too is we are still trying to figure out a bit of a rotation, and we are just not there yet."

The Hatters will open ASUN play next Saturday at FGCU.  Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. at Alico Arena.

Notes: The Hatters finished the 2017 calendar year with a record of 24-10 ... Kendall Lentz had four points and four rebounds in 28 minutes ... Beach and Chambers each played a full 40 minutes, but Chambers had her double figure scoring streak end at 21 games.
