DeLand, Fla. - Stetson scored eight runs in the third inning and coasted to a 15-4 win over East Tennessee State Friday night at Melching Field. The Hatters (34-12, 16-3 A-Sun) won for the 12th time in their last 13 conference games, while ETSU (26-20, 11-8 A-Sun) lost for the sixth time in their last seven conference contests.Â

Shane Jordan and Casey Frawley each scored three times for the Hatters, while starting pitcher Corey Kluber (9-1) returned to form with six shutout innings. The right-hander from Coppell, Texas struck out seven, allowed five hits, and walked just two. Kluber improved to 6-0 at home and bounced back from his last start when he suffered his first loss of the year.Â

Drew Story (2-4) took the loss after two innings plus six batters in the third, all of whom scored. He allowed a total of eight runs on four hits, three walks, and three hit batters.Â

Stetson's third inning eruption began when Frawley was hit by a pitch. Braedyn Pruitt and Justin Bass each walked to load the bases. Aaron Crittenden singled in one run and Brian Pruitt was hit by a pitch to force in another. A single from Jeremy Cruz scored the next run and forced Story out of the game.Â

Josh Clendenin greeted reliever Todd Caldwell with another run-scoring single and the Hatters led 6-0. Kevin Johnson then delivered the big hit of the inning, a double to plate two and indirectly bring home another run when the ball was misplayed in center. Johnson later scored on wild pitch to make it 10-0.Â

Braedyn Pruitt and Bass each singled in runs in the fifth and again in the sixth. Jeremy Cruz also scored in the sixth on a fielder's choice, putting the Hatters on top 15-0.Â

ETSU scored a single run in the eighth and three runs in the ninth inning.Â

Johnson's three RBI paced the Hatters, while every Stetson hitter in the starting lineup scored at least once. The Hatters knocked out 12 hits to take advantage of five walks and six hit batters.Â

Andy Mauldin pitched the final three innings to pick up his first save of the year.Â
