Stetson Sports Medicine is committed to the prevention, recognition, management and rehabilitation of athletic injuries while supporting the overall health, wellness and physical performance of every Hatter student-athlete.
Comprehensive Student-Athlete Care
The Stetson University Sports Medicine staff operates under the direction of Medical Director Dr. Trai Shinn and Head Team Physician Dr. Mark Hollmann. The sports medicine team includes board-certified family and sports medicine physicians, a network of specialized orthopedic surgeons, a physical therapist provided through Stetson's partnership with AdventHealth, 10 full-time certified athletic trainers and certified strength and conditioning specialists.
Together, the team is committed to the prevention, recognition, management and rehabilitation of athletic injuries while enhancing the physical performance and personal health care of each Stetson student-athlete.
Sports Medicine Facilities
Care Across the Stetson Athletics Campus
Sports Medicine services are located in both the Wilson Athletic Center and the Athletic Training Center. The Wilson Athletic Center houses a 2,000-square-foot facility primarily serving indoor sports, while the Athletic Training Center features a 2,010-square-foot athletic training room primarily serving outdoor sports. Satellite athletic training rooms are also located at Patricia Wilson Field, Melching Field at Conrad Park and Spec Martin Memorial Stadium.

Sports Medicine Mission Statement
The Sports Medicine Program serves the Stetson University Department of Athletics by providing a comprehensive health care network, wellness resources and education for each participating member of the Department of Athletics. This health care places an emphasis on the prevention, care, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses. In addition, these services are made available to the broader Stetson University community through the University's physical therapy alliance.
