JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Stetson women's soccer team (3-9-1, 1-3-1) was defeated by Jacksonville (6-4-2, 3-0-1) on Friday night, falling to the Dolphins by a score of 3-0 on the road.

Raquel Weckhurst was a difficult task for the Stetson defense.  The Jacksonville forward scored two of the three Dolphins goals, beginning by putting the ball in the back of the net just three minutes and 44 seconds into the match.

Miranda Fyfe played a long ball up the field to Weckhurst, who chipped her shot over the top of Stetson goalkeeper Victoria Troccoli to give the Dolphins the early 1-0 lead.  As time was winding down in the first frame, Jacksonville increased its lead to 2-0 with only four seconds remaining on the clock.

Emily Culbreth assisted on an Ashley Poirier goal that curled around Troccoli just before the buzzer sounded.  Jacksonville went into the break with a 2-0 lead and a 14-4 advantage in shots. The Hatters had their opportunities, though, equaling the Dolphins with two corners during the period.

"We need to do a better job of focusing for 45 minutes at a time," Head Coach Julie Orlowski said after the game.  "Once again we let in an early goal in transition, which is frustrating.  Then a communication lapse with four seconds left really killed us."

Stetson continued to fight in the second half, recording seven shots, and forcing Jacksonville goalkeeper Jill D'Amico to stop five throughout the game.  By the time the Dolphins put their third goal in the net in the 88^th minute of play, time had all but run out for the Hatters anyway.  Weckhurst struck again, receiving the assist from Fyfe once again.

"We played a fantastic second half, really putting them under pressure, but we just couldn't get a good look at goal," Orlowski said. "It's unfortunate, but instead of learning new lessons every game, we need to be taking advantage of the lessons we've already learned."

Stetson will next play at North Florida on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.  The Ospreys are now 3-0-1 in Atlantic Sun Conference play after topping Florida Gulf Coast 2-0 on Friday night.
