MACON, Ga. - After
leading the Stetson men's basketball team (12-14, 9-6) to a pair of road
victories, and securing the Hatters a spot in the Atlantic Sun Conference
Tournament for the first time since 2008-09, senior Adam Pegg was named A-Sun
Player of the Week for the first time in his career, as announced by the league
on Tuesday.
Pegg averaged 20.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in wins over
Lipscomb and Northern Kentucky that allowed Stetson to remain in third place in
the A-Sun standings with a league mark of 9-6.
The senior scored 23 points and added 12 rebounds in recording his fourth
double-double of the season in a come from behind victory over the Bisons. He then scored 17 points and grabbed five
boards against the Norse for his 21st straight game in double
figures.
While this marks his first Player of the Week honor from the
conference, it's not Pegg's first weekly honor from the league. Last season he was named A-Sun Newcomer of
the Week twice. Pegg was also named College Sports Madness A-Sun Player of the
Week on Monday. It was the second time
this season that the senior earned those accolades.
Stetson returns home this weekend to host Florida Gulf Coast
on Friday, Feb. 22 at 7:00 p.m. The Hatters and the Eagles will square off on
CSS and ESPN3 with Matt Stewart and Sonny Smith on the call.
