Viaud Leads Hatters on First Day at Juan Varon Invitational

Stetson's Alexe Viaud continued her strong fall with a victory as Stetson opened play at the Bethune-Cookman Juan Varon Invitational, Friday at the Florida Tennis Center in Daytona Beach.
 
Viaud, who teamed with Megan Horwitz to win the consolation doubles title at the Bedford Cup two weeks ago, picked up a straight set win her opening match Friday in the B Singles.
 
Horwitz and Charlotte Solli were also victorious in singles, while the team of Lucie Renault & Danel Ashirova picked up Stetson's only doubles victory.
 
The JVI continues on Saturday and runs through Sunday.
