Hatters Look to Get on Track Wednesday at USF

Stetson men's basketball visits USF, 7 p.m., Wednesday, at the Yuengling Center in Tampa. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3.
 
The Hatters (1-6) and the Bulls (4-2) renew a rivalry which began in 1971. Both teams enter the game following losses. Stetson sustained an 84-74 loss at Bethune-Cookman on Monday, while USF was an 84-81 victim of The Citadel last Saturday.
 
Four Hatters scored in double figures against the Wildcats, led by Abayomi Iyiola's 16 points and 10 rebounds. Fellow sophomore Christiaan Jones, who had 12 points on Monday night, leads the Hatters in scoring at 11.7 points per game.
 
USF has wins this season over Alabama A&M, Austin Peay, Ohio and Florida A&M. The Bulls are led in scoring by David Collins, who checks in at 17.3 points per game. Point guard Laquincy Rideau averages 11.5 points and 6.5 assists per game.

•Stetson makes its first visit to Tampa in five seasons when the Hatters take on USF on Wednesday
•Wednesday's game is the 27th meeting between Stetson and USF, with the Bulls owning a 19-7 advantage. USF has won 13 straight games in the series, including a 75-72 win last season in DeLand.
•Stetson's last win in the series was a 75-73 win on Jan. 16, 1989 in DeLand. The Hatters won in Tampa since Jan. 10, 1979 (56-54).
•Stetson head coach Corey Williams is 0-2 all-time against the Bulls
•The Hatters continue to lead the ASUN Conference in offensive rebounds at 15.1 per game
•Sophomore Kenny Aninye is second in the ASUN in assist-to-turnover ratio at 3.0 (24-8)
•Sophomore Abayomi Iyiola picked up his third double-double (16/10) of the season on Monday at Bethune-Cookman. He had four such efforts in 32 games as a freshman last season.
