Hatters Fall Late to Manhattan

DeLand, Fla. -- Manhattan rallied for five runs in the top of the seventh inning to defeat Stetson 7-5 Friday afternoon at Patricia Wilson Field.

The Hatters (20-10) led 5-2 after six innings, but in the seventh, the Jaspers (9-8) used two doubles, two singles and two walks to mount a late comeback.  The loss snapped Stetson's five-game win streak.

Lizzie Shubert was 2-for-2 with a two-run home run, her fifth of the season.  Molly McLaughlin also went 2-for-2 with a run and two RBI.  Kasey Fava and Ashly Smith each added hits.

Jaime Tino struck out seven in a complete-game effort.

The Hatters will host Princeton in a doubleheader at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Notes:
  • Fava extended her reached base streak to 25 games
  • McLaughlin took over the ASUN lead in RBI
  • The Hatters stole a base for the 16th straight game
