Hatters head to North Alabama to face the Lions

Florence, Ala. -- The Stetson University women's soccer team gets set to travel to North Alabama on Thursday, Sept. 30 as the Hatters face the Lions in another ASUN Conference match. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. EST.

The Hatters come off two consecutive ASUN Conference wins as Stetson shutout Bellarmine 1-0 behind Alexa LoBasso's golden goal in double-overtime back on Sept. 23. Then on Sept. 26, the Hatters shutout Eastern Kentucky 2-0 behind goals from Georgia Place and Chloe Washington.

Scouting the Lions
North Alabama currently sits at 1-8-2 overall on the year and 0-2-0 in ASUN action. The Lions come off two-straight road losses to Kennesaw State and Liberty, losing to the Owls 3-0 and then to the Flames, 4-0.

Alice Bussey leads the Lions with two goals and four points on the year while Kira Schuster has one goal and two assists. Hope Lensing, Kate Wiseman, and Katherine Laroche each have a single goal for North Alabama.

All-Time Series
In only two meetings, the Lions lead the all-time series with the Hatters two matches to none. North Alabama took the last meeting between the ASUN foes 2-0, back on Oct. 18, 2019.

Hatters Notes
Kyleigh Thelen, Georgia Place, and Jackie Fiacco lead the Hatters with two goals. Lea Alexander leads Stetson with three assists and is tied with Fiacco in points with five. Hatters keeper Sarah Grimmett has held down the Stetson defense in its last two matches as the redshirt freshman is 8-for-8 in save opportunities, notching two consecutive shutouts.

Looking Ahead
After Stetson's match in Florence, the Hatters head to Jacksonville, Alabama for a another ASUN Conference as Stetson takes on the Gamecocks in a Sunday matinee. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
