Stetson Alumnus Mitchell Jordan to be Inducted into CCBL Hall of Fame

Jordan will join the Cape Cod Baseball League HOF Class of 2023

Stetson University proudly announces the induction of former right-handed pitcher Mitchell Jordan into the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) Hall of Fame Class of 2023. Jordan is among the six inductees set to be enshrined during a ceremony on November 19th, 2023.

During his CCBL season with the Orleans Firebirds in 2015, Jordan displayed exceptional talent on the mound, earning him the prestigious Benjamin F.C. Whitehouse Outstanding Pitcher Award. Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 200 pounds, the Longwood native left an indelible mark on the league.

Jordan's 2015 CCBL season is etched in the league's history books as one of the finest pitching performances. With a remarkable 0.21 ERA over 43 innings, he tied an all-time record previously held by CCBL Hall of Famer Eric Milton (Falmouth, 1996). In his eight games started, he maintained a flawless 6-0 record, striking out 46 batters while issuing only six walks.

His remarkable achievements didn't go unnoticed, earning Jordan the distinction of CCBL Pitcher of the Week on two separate occasions during that summer, and a spot on the All-League team. Jordan's presence was pivotal in leading Orleans to a first-place regular season finish in the Eastern Division.

Before making his mark in the CCBL, Mitchell Jordan pitched for Stetson University from 2014 to 2016, accumulating a record of 14-16 on the mound in 35 starts and 49 appearances. He logged a total of 223.0 innings as a Hatter with a career ERA of 4.24, reaching as low as 3.27 in 2015. Jordan showcased his prowess by striking out 187 batters during his Stetson career.

In addition to his CCBL accolades, Jordan was recognized with other notable awards, including Second Team All-Conference in 2015 and being named a Perfect Game Summer Collegiate All-American the same year.

Following his collegiate career, Mitchell Jordan was drafted in the 10th round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the Oakland Athletics, where he dedicated four years to their minor league system.
