Biography

2007: Peters appeared in 64 games as a junior, starting 31 games in right field and two at designated player.  She collected 16 hits in 83 at-bats with 22 runs scored and 10 stolen bases.  Against A-Sun rival Jacksonville in the opener of a May 3 doubleheader, Peters went three for four at the plate with two stolen bases and scored two runs in a 6-0 Hatter victory.  She followed that up with two more hits, two more stolen bases and a run scored as Stetson also took the nightcap 6-1.  Peters holds the distinction of collecting the first NCAA Tournament base hit in Stetson history, singling off Florida’s Second Team All-American Stacey Nelson in the third inning.

 

2006: Played in 55 games including 14 starts ... four hits and 19 runs scored... went 1-2 in season opener against Charleston Southern on February 10 ... first on the team in fielding percentage (1.000)

 

2005: Started 21 games in the outfield and four at designated player ... finished third on the team in stolen bases (7) ... went 2-for-3 for season-high two RBIs against Mercer on April 10 ... also went 2-for-2 vs. UCF (5/6) ... earned academic all-conference honors.  

 

High School: Prepped at Niceville High School under head coach Danny Hensley ... helped guide her team to a regional title and State Final Four appearance ... recieved the Sparkplug Award and team Offensive MVP ... served as team captain ... chosen first-team all-area and third-team all-state ... also lettered in basketball ... was an Eagle Scholar and a member of the National Honor Society.

 

Personal: Amy Elizabeth Peters was born May 6, 1986 in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. ... hobbies include running, travelling, skiing, going to the beach, dancing, shopping and spending time with family and friends... most admires her amazing family ... favorite pro team is the Atlanta Braves ... favorite foods are grilled salmon and sweet potatoes... favorite movie is Phantom of the Opera... favorite TV show is Law and Order ... favorite singer is Garth Brooks ... favorite time of the year is spring... favorite book is the Bible.
