Biography

2010:  Played in 42 games, making 34 pinch-hit appearances and starting eight games (two at first base, two at second base and one at third base)...hit .226 with three doubles and 13 RBI...tied for team lead with two RBI sacrifice flies, including a game-winner at USC Upstate (April 3) that jumpstarted the Hatters to finish the regular season with 13 wins in their last 15 games...went three for five with a double in April 24 nightcap vs. Kennesaw State, her first career three-hit game...had two RBI each in wins over Yale (March 14), Mercer (April 22) and Jacksonville (May 6).

2009:  Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team...appeared in 36 games with 18 starts spread over three different positions (3B, DP, C)...batted .130 with two doubles, three RBI and four sacrifice bunts (third on the team)...two for three with a run and an RBI in Feb. 13 win over Bethune-Cookman...two RBI vs. USC Upstate (March 28).

2008:  Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team...played in 45 games, starting 17 at third base...two doubles and five RBI...multiple RBI games vs. Marist (Feb. 8) and ETSU (Feb. 16).

High School: Perna played for Boca Ciega High School in St. Petersburg, Fla., where she was named Honorable Mention All-Suncoast as well as First Team All-PCAC South at shortstop by the St. Petersburg Times as a senior.  Her BCHS teams won back to back PCAC South championships in 2005 and 2006 and were district runners-up and regional semifinalists.  Perna helped her travel team, the Tampa Wildcats, to the 18UA Nationals in 2006.

Personal: Born July 12, 1989, Katelyn is the daughter of Anthony and Kathy Perna...majoring in Accounting at Stetson.
