Stetson University Athletics

Donald Blackmon enters his second season as the Director of Basketball Operations with the Stetson men’s basketball program.  His primary duty is assisting the coaching staff in the day-to-day administrative operations of the program.  In addition, his assignments include aiding the coaching staff in practice sessions, coordinating film exchange with opponents, and video preparation.

Prior to joining the Hatters he was the head coach at Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School for 2 seasons from 2004-06.  During that time he also served as the assistant athletic director and the head coach for the Men’s Track and Field program. Blackmon earned a bachelor’s degree in Education, with a minor in Mathematics and Educational Technology, from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. Blackmon and his wife Shelley currently reside in Cocoa, Fl.  The couple has two children, a daughter Madison, age 11, and a son Colin, age 6.
