Todd Hooper, a veteran of international tennis coaching, has joined the Stetson men's tennis program as a volunteer assistant, head coach Christophe Noblet recently announced.
Â
Hooper, who played collegiately at BYU-Hawaii and High Point, is a native of Australia and received his bachelor's degree at Deakin University in Melbourne. He has worked internationally as a coach and tennis director in Hong Kong, and as a traveling coach on the ITF Asian Junior Circuit.
Â
"Adding a full time volunteer assistant to our program is going to make a huge difference in the development of our student-athletes," Noblet said. "It means a lower 'players-to-coaches ratio', additional feedback, and more individualized practices. We have a talented group of players this year, and they all need to be challenged differently, in order to maximize their potentials."
Â
In addition to his international clubs and organizations, Hooper has also served as a travelling coach for the Women's Tennis Association, and has additional professional experience working with Nike, IMG, Footjoy, Shark, and Greg Norman.
Â
"Todd is passionate about tennis, and teaching the game," Noblet said. "He has coached at the highest junior and pro levels, and therefore understands the developmental path that our student-athletes are on. His expertise will be a great asset to this program, and I know the players are eager to start working with him."
