Alvaro Filho joined the Stetson beach staff in January 2024. Filho brings to Stetson a wealth of beach knowledge having 15 years of expertise in international competitions including being part of the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo competing for Brazil. Filho was a beach volleyball standout for the Brazillian National Team having started his career in 2008 on the U19 team. Filho went on to win several medals during international competitions including seven gold medals and three silver all with the Brazilian National Team. Not only did Filho receive team accolades, he earned the 2013 World Championships Most Valuable Player. Also in 2013, he received the Top Rookie of the year and Most Improved Player from the World Tour. In 2017 Alvaro was named the Sportsman of the year by the World Tour.
Filho currently resides in Kissimmee, Florida.
