Vince Miranda is in his first season as an assistant coach at Stetson University.
Miranda, a former Open player, recently directed his own year-round juniors beach volleyball program, PRIME Sand Volleyball, in his hometown of Chicago, Ill. Â For five years he helped train numerous future collegiate players and saw four of his eight teams qualify for the BVCA National Championships in the summer of 2018.
In the summer of 2017, Miranda was selected as a coach for the USA Beach High Performance Camp in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Â He instructed athletes from the U13 and U15 divisions in the A2 Camp.
Miranda was then selected to coach the same U13 and U15 teams who advanced to the HP National Championship in Hermonsa, Beach, Calif. Â His U13 team placed fifth at the national tournament.
Miranda has been formally trained by FIVB World Champion and former AVP King of the Beach, Jose Loiola, and by 2004 U.S. Olympian Stein Metzger. Â He has also coached alongside indoor and beach volleyball legend Pat Powers.
A collegiate men's indoor volleyball player, Miranda graduated from Missouri Valley College in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Substance Abuse Rehabilitation and Counseling.
