Robert Jones

Stetson University Athletics announced the appointment of Robert Jones as our new Head Equipment Manager. With over 30 years of experience in Division I athletic equipment management, Robert brings a wealth of expertise and a strong commitment to the safety and satisfaction of our student-athletes.

Most recently, Robert served as the Associate Athletic Director for Equipment and Camp Operations at UC Davis, a role he assumed in 2023 after serving as Assistant Athletic Director of Equipment Operations since 2016. His impressive career also includes significant positions at the University of Central Florida, Northwestern University, Purdue University, and the University of Louisville. Robert's journey in equipment management began in 1985 as Assistant Equipment Manager for the Orlando Renegades of the USFL.

A recognized leader in his field, Robert has received numerous accolades, including the 2006-2007 Conference Equipment Manager of the Year, the 2019 and 2024 District IX Equipment Manager of the Year, and the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award in Athletic Equipment. His contributions extend beyond his roles, as he has authored two AEMA Journals and co-authored the Inventory Control AEMA Certification Manual. He also played a key role on the construction committee for both Papa John's Stadium and Complex and Bright House Stadium.

Robert holds a B.S. in Physical Education & Health from Carson Newman College.
