A Winning Tradition Since 1974
The Edmunds Center opened its doors on Dec. 5, 1974, when Stetson Men's Basketball defeated Marshall, 73-58. That victory launched an extraordinary beginning for the new arena.
The Hatters finished a perfect 16-0 at home during the facility's inaugural season and won the first 20 games ever played at the Edmunds Center, immediately establishing the venue as a formidable home court.

One of the signature additions from the 2025-26 renovation is the Champions Walkway, a dedicated space celebrating recent championship teams and individual achievements throughout Stetson Athletics. The walkway connects the facility's modernized interior with the tradition and success of generations of Hatters.
Continued Facility Development
Maintaining a first-class athletic facility is a continual process, and the Edmunds Center has undergone numerous improvements throughout its history to keep pace with the growth of Stetson Athletics.
New video boards and LED scorer's tables were installed prior to the 2019-20 season. Bench and press-row seating were upgraded during the same year, while courtside seating was also added. New arena lighting followed during the summer of 2020.
