Deland, Fla.?-?Stetson men's and women's tennis look to compete in the 2005 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship this weekend at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.

Women's tennis earned the?third seed after posting a 14-6 overall record and a 4-1 mark in league play. The Hatters notched regular season conference wins against Mercer, Florida Atlantic, Jacksonville and Troy, while falling only to top-seeded UCF.

Freshman Catherine Canady (Jacksonville,?Fla.) leads the Hatters into the tournament with a 14-5?singles?record, including a 4-1 record in A-Sun play. Junior Mili Milovanovic (Kilchberg,?Switzerland) also?goes into the weekend with a 13-4?singles?mark?and a perfect 4-0 conference record.??

The men's team will serve as the no. 9 with a 16-6 overall record and a 1-3 A-Sun
record. The Hatters picked up a regular season league win against Florida Atlantic, but fell to Mercer, Jacksonville and UCF.

Junior Mario Alberto Cayo (Lima, Peru) guides Stetson into the weekend with a 16-5 singles record while going 3-1 in A-Sun play. Senior Thomas Bross (Renens, Switzerland) also brings a 14-6 singles record with a 2-2 conference mark into the championship.?

The women?earned a bye in the first round and will face the winner of the #6 Troy vs. #11 Lipscomb match Friday at 2 p.m. in?the quarterfinals. The men will play #8 Jacksonville in the first round Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
