DeLAND, Fla. – Stetson University Athletics announced that Travis Sandlant has been elevated to the position of Director of Tennis. The longtime head coach of the Hatter women's program will now oversee both the men's and women's tennis teams.
Sandlant steps into the position following the resignation of men's tennis head coach Christophe Noblet, who left last month for a family-related opportunity. Noblet departs Stetson after leading the Hatters for the past 10 seasons, a tenure highlighted by three ASUN Conference tournament finals appearances and 10 consecutive ITA All-Academic Team awards.
Sandlant has led the women's program since 2017, compiling a 121 wins guiding the Hatters to three ASUN Championships (2022, 2024, 2025), including back-to-back titles and NCAA Tournament appearances in each of the past two seasons. He has been recognized multiple times for his leadership, earning ASUN Coach of the Year honors in each championship season and the 2022 Wilson ITA Southeast Region Coach of the Year award.
"Travis's exceptional work with the women's tennis program has earned him the opportunity to lead both teams," said Athletic Director Ricky Ray. "I am confident that under his guidance, both programs will continue to contend for championships."
Over the past two seasons, Sandlant's squads have combined for a 33-12 overall record and an 18-1 mark in ASUN play, including a perfect 10-0 conference slate in 2024. Under his direction, the Hatters reached several program milestones, including their first ASUN title in 33 years, a program-record 22 wins in 2022, and the team's debut in the ITA Top 75 national rankings.
"I'm excited to be taking on this new role. I can't thank Ricky and the athletic department enough for this opportunity," said Sandlant. "I have some big shoes to fill. Christophe has done a remarkable job on the men's side. We will work hard to continue the successful brand of Stetson Tennis and graduate the student athletes with a memorable academic and collegiate experience".
A national search for an Associate Head Coach to assist with the men's program will begin immediately.
