DeLand, Fla. ? Stetson baseball has added another talented player to the 2009 lineup. Jake Colavito, a first baseman out of Schenectady, NY will play his final season at Guilderland High School this Spring and then join the Hatters in the Fall. In 2007 he hit .381 with seven doubles, three home runs and 27 RBI. For his efforts he was named a Suburban Council 1st Team All-Star and a Times Union All-Star.
”We are really happy that Jake has joined our program”, said Hatters Head Coach Pete Dunn. “Over the years the Northeast has been a source of very talented players for us and Jake will carry on this tradition. A big, strong left-handed hitter, Jake will provide power to our lineup. He is a great fit.”
Colavito will join a Hatters program rich in tradition. The 2007 Atlantic Sun Conference regular season champions, Stetson has seven conference titles and 16 NCAA Regional appearances since 1970.
