(DeLand, Fla.) ? The Stetson women's tennis team posted a 7-0 victory over Memphis Thursday afternoon at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center. Breanna Atkinson did not lose a game in either singles or doubles to lead the Hatters over the Tigers.
“We played well today,” head coach Sasha Schmid said. “It is nice for us to get some solid wins and for the team to gain confidence.”
Atkinson paired with Katherine St. Clair for an 8-0 win at #3 doubles then blew by Dara Toulch in #2 singles, 6-0, 6-0. St. Clair then went to 3-0 in singles competition with a 6-3, 6-0 win at #6 singles.
Valentina Galbarini continued to pace the team. Her 6-2, 6-2 win at the #1 singles position improved her individual record to a team-best 10-5.
Stetson hits the road for conference tests at Kennesaw State on Saturday and Mercer on Sunday.
