DeLand, Fla.- Central Michigan (4-8) defeated Stetson 13-8 Tuesday night on Melching Field. Offensively the Hatters (3-9) were led by freshman Nick Rickles (Loxahatchee, Fla.) who was 2-for-5 with an RBI and Jeremy Cruz (Miami, Fla.) who connected on his third home run in the last two games.

Starting pitcher David Burns (Seminole, Fla.) had a rough go of it throwing four complete innings and giving up nine hits and six runs, and dropping to 0-3 on the season. He struck out four batters on the night. The relief corps did not fare much better giving up seven more runs. Six Hatters saw time on the mound.

Chippewas starting pitcher Zach Cooper (Hartland, Mich.) tossed five innings and picked up his third win of the season.  

The Hatters will return to Melching Field Wednesday night to take on Central Michigan one more time.
