Box Score 2 DeLand, Fla. ? After an impressive win in Friday's series opener, Stetson (10-17, 3-6) allowed 13 runs in both ends of Saturday's doubleheader and dropped a pair to Kennesaw State (11-11, 5-3) 13-6 and 13-9. The teams combined for 61 hits on the day.
Jeremy Cruz (Miami, Fla.) and Casey Frawley (New Haven, Ct.) were both 3-for-5 in the afternoon game. Cruz added a two-RBI double in the nightcap, while Frawley was held hitless.
Ian Thompson (St. Petersburg, Fla.) pitched just 2/3 of an inning in the first game, yet picked up the loss and fell to 0-1 on the season. Robbie Powell (Punta Gorda, Fla.) also threw 2/3 of an inning and suffered the loss in the second game to lower his record to 1-3. Both pitchers were simply in a game, where none of the Hatters pitched well, at the wrong time.
Aaron Crittenden (Fort Myers, Fla.) hit his third home run of the season and Mark Jones (Palm Coast, Fla.) hit is second in game one. Nick Rickles (Loxahatchee, Fla.) and Frank Florio (Long Valley, NJ) led Stetson with two hits each in game two.
Stetson will return to Melching Tuesday to host UCF beginning at 6:30 p.m. The game will be televised on Bright House Sports Network.
