Nashville, Tenn. - Stetson (20-18, 8-4 Atlantic Sun) dropped both ends of Saturday's doubleheader against Belmont (19-18, 7-8 Atlantic Sun). The Bruins won game one 13-3 and then finished the day with a 14-4 victory in the nightcap. After taking the opening game of the series Friday the Hatters were unable to get the bats going Saturday as Belmont out hit Stetson 31-16.
Lindsey Caughel (Orlando, Fla.) took the loss in the first game and fell to 3-3 on the season after giving up eight hits and seven runs over the first four innings. He actually pitched reasonably well striking out seven and walking just one. His downfall was surrendering three home runs. Kyle Maulbetsch (Jacksonville, Fla.) also allowed seven runs in game two. His record dropped to 3-4 after surrendering seven hits over three innings.
Sean Emory (Miami, Fla.) finished 4-for-8 on the afternoon. He was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles in game one and smacked his third home run of the season in game two. Robert Crews (Port Charlotte, Fla.) hit his team-leading 9th home run of the year in the first game and Ryan Lashley (Lake Worth, Fla.) delivered his 7th of the season in the second game. He is second on the team in that category.
