DeLand, Fla. - The Stetson women's tennis team (15-1, 6-1 Atlantic Sun) recorded its eighth consecutive victory and brought the single-season wins record (18) within sight with a 7-0 shutout of visiting A-Sun rival Belmont (5-9, 1-4 A-Sun) Saturday at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.  Four Hatters were double winners on the day.

Doubles wins from Carolina de los Santos (Montevideo, Uruguay)/Unnati Purushotham (Hyderabad, India) and Lindsey Cable (Gainesville, Fla.)/Shannon Gunning (Boca Raton, Fla.) quickly gave the Hatters a 1-0 lead in the match; Stetson then went on to win five of the six singles matches in straight sets and made it a clean sweep with sophomore Jen Miller's (Tampa, Fla.) third set tiebreaker win on Court 6.  De los Santos recorded a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win over Abby Leatherwood at #1 singles.  The top five Hatters in the lineup were 60-16 in singles games.

Stetson travels to Johnson City, Tenn. next Saturday to face top A-Sun contender ETSU.  The Hatter men will face the Bucs the same day.
