Stetson Plays to Scoreless Draw at Gardner-Webb

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Stetson women's soccer team (1-5-1) snapped a five-match losing streak with a scoreless tie Sunday at Gardner-Webb (2-2-1) to conclude the G-WU Border Classic. Sophomore goalkeeper Laura Seletos (New Port Richey, Fla.) recorded her first career shutout while freshman twins Katie and Colleen O'Kennedy (Oviedo, Fla.) each were selected to the All-Tournament Team.

Both Seletos and her Gardner-Webb netminding counterpart Erika Lenns were tested early and often in Sunday's match as the two teams combined for 34 shots and 14 shots on goal in 110 minutes without any blood being drawn on either side. Seletos made six saves for the Hatters and Lenns eight for the Running Bulldogs.

Katie O'Kennedy, who had an assist in Friday's overtime loss to Chattanooga, led all players in the match with five shot attempts, two on goal. Stetson's last shutout came late last season in the 1-0 A-Sun quarterfinal victory at North Florida.

The Hatters return home after six consecutive matches on the road for their non-conference finale at 11:00 am Sunday against Furman. That match will be the opening act of a doubleheader at the Stetson Soccer Complex as the Hatter men take on Temple at 2:00 pm. Hatter Vision and Live Stats will be available at GoHatters.com, the official online home of Stetson Athletics.
