Stetson Rowing Advances 3 Boats to Southeastern U.S. Regional Finals

Under foreboding clouds Stetson crew raced through the likes of 60 top level schools including Michigan State University, The University of Notre Dame, Auburn, Temple, Purdue and the University of Texas--to name but a few--to place three boats into the SIRA finals. The novice women's four of Alicja Duda, Amanda Ponce, Shannon McCarthy and Chloe Blackketter with Callie Peacock at cox placed second in the semi-finals and progressed to the A Final to be raced Sunday at 9 AM.  The women's lightweight four, who placed second last year at SIRA, will have a finals only event at 10:24.  The Stetson varsity open men with team captain Bill Brady, Taylor Hetherington, Gary Marra and Mike Sigrist, with Erin Lee at cox raced oar-to-oar with Marietta, Texas, Washington University, Florida and Oklahoma to place third in their heat and earn a race in the B finals at 10:59 Sunday morning.
