Waco, Texas -- Stetson's season-opening four-game winning streak was halted by No. 13 Baylor by a 96-42 margin Saturday afternoon in the second day of the BTI Classic at the Ferrell Center.

The Lady Bears (3-1) shot 58.1 percent from the field and outrebounded the Hatters (4-1) 51-26.

"They are good, they are big, and they are athletic," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said about Baylor.  "We knew what we were up against.  I wish we could have put a 40 minute game together, but we didn't.  They took us completely out of everything we wanted to do in the first half.  I think the only way to get better is to keep playing teams like (Baylor)."

The Lady Bears stifled the Hatters offense from start to finish.  Stetson shot just 26.2 percent from the field and hit just 5-of-30 attempts from behind the arc. 

"They do a great job defensively of taking charges and not giving you anything easy in the paint, so even when you drive by them, somebody is there," Bria said.  "It is a credit to their defense and probably why they are ranked where they are."

Brianti Saunders led Stetson with 18 points.  She went 7-for-12 from the floor and hit four 3-pointers.  Amber Porter scored 12 points, Myeisha Hall tallied seven points, and DeAsia Beal added five points.

"It doesn't matter if (Brianti) is playing Baylor or Marist (or whomever), she plays the same way and I am very encouraged by that.  I thought Amber Porter was more aggressive in the second half.  We just have to keep getting better."

Dekeiya Cohen led five Lady Bears in double figures with 18 points.

Stetson will wrap up the BTI Classic at 1 p.m. Sunday against Utah State.
