DeLAND—Campbell's Bradley Farias scored two goals and added an assist as the Fighting Camels spoiled Stetson's home opener by handing the Hatters a 3-1 setback, Thursday at the Athletic Training Center.
Farias opened the scoring for the Camels (3-0-0), scoring in the 21st minute when he took a long pass from across midfield and raced into the box where he eventually danced around a defender and goalkeeper Paul Ladwig for an easy goal.
The 1-0 lead lasted into the second half until Stetson (2-2-1) tied the score in the 49th minute. JJ Bostic took a direct kick from Jeppe Moe and scored from five yards out, tying the game at 1-1.
Campbell surged ahead in the 68th minute when Tunki Osifeso took a long pass from Farias and scored to make it a 2-1 game. Farias added the final goal in the 75th minute when he took a long pass from Scooter Oliver and beat Ladwig in a one-on-one situation.
Stetson out-shot Campbell, 17-9, but Campbell keeper Mathhew Mozynski made five saves. Ladwig made three saves for the Hatters.
Stetson returns to action when they host Loyola (Md.), noon, Saturday.
