Courtney Brandt Earns NFCA All-South Region Honors

DeLand, Fla. -- A triple threat as a pitcher, outfielder, and designated player, Stetson University senior Courtney Brandt (Dade City, Fla.) earned First Team All-South Region honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, it was announced on Thursday.

Brandt is now eligible for selection to one of three NFCA Division I All-America teams.

An all-region selection as a pitcher/utility player, Brandt went 10-10 in the circle with a 4.31 ERA this season.  She pitched 113.2 innings and threw four shutouts, including a no-hitter on Feb. 21 vs. Morgan State.

At the plate, Brandt hit .248 with six home runs and 35 RBI while starting all 50 games.  She hit 28 career home runs, the fifth-most in school history, including three grand slams.

Brandt also made 18 starts in the outfield this season, where she collected 22 putouts and one assist without committing an error.

For her career, Brandt was one of two players in school history and one of five in A-Sun history to record over 25 wins in the circle (31) and hit over 25 home runs at the plate (28).

Brandt is Stetson's third All-Region performer in the past two seasons.  Meredith Owen and Demi Meza earned first and third team all-region honors, respectively, last season.

Stetson finished the 2015 campaign with a 30-20 record.
