Stetson lacrosse standouts Rachel Dumas, Whitney Meyers and Mary Kate O'Sullivan have been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association/Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll, the organization announced on Monday.
As a team, the Hatters were also named as an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad for being one of 83 Division I programs with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
The IWLCA honored 256 student-athletes from 80 different institutions with inclusion in the 2015 Academic Honor Roll. All student-athletes were nominated by their schools and have achieved at least junior status academically and had a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. Leading the way was the 2015 IWLCA/Zag Sports Division I Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Ellen Shaffrey from the College of William & Mary.
Dumas, a senior defender, carries a 3.53 GPA as an Elementary Education major. Dumas appeared in 15 games last, making 11 starts. She tied for second on the team with 23 groundballs.
Meyers, a senior goalie, owns a 3.95 GPA as a Integrative Health Science major. Meyers was named to the Atlantic Sun Conference all-academic team for lacrosse, and also earned second-team all-conference honors after her stellar junior season. In 2015, Meyers led the A-Sun and ranked sixth nationally with 166 total saves, while ranking fifth nationally in saves per game (9.76).
O'Sullivan is a senior attack/midfielder who carries a 3.56 grade-point average as an Elementary Education major. She started 16 games as a junior and scored eight goals with one assist.
