Hatters Continue Road Swing at High Point Saturday

Off to its best start in 16 years, the Stetson women's basketball team will continue its six-game road swing with a Saturday afternoon contest at High Point.  Tip-off at the Millis Center is scheduled for 2 p.m.  The game will be streamed online on a subscription basis by the Big South Network. The Hatters' WSBB radio broadcast will be joined in progress following the conclusion of the men's game against Florida College.

The Hatters are coming off a 54-45 win Wednesday afternoon at Northern Kentucky.  It was Stetson's seventh win of the year, a school-record for victories in the month of November, and the team's third second-half comeback victory this year.  The Hatters are 4-0 in games decided by 10 points or less.

"We are eight games in now, and when it gets tough, we really tend to come together," sophomore McKenna Beach said about the team's ability to finish close games. "We get in our huddles and we encourage each other, and that really helps us out."

Stetson is 7-1 for just the third time in school history, and for the first time since 2000. The Hatters are one of 14 teams in the country with seven victories as of Friday.

Stetson leads the ASUN in scoring, averaging 71.0 points per game.  The Hatters also led the league and rank 12th in the NCAA with a .797 free throw percentage.

Brianti Saunders averages 16.8 ppg.

High Point, meanwhile, is 1-5 on the season following a 63-60 setback to Norfolk State Wednesday.

The two teams will be meeting for the first time.

In addition to the live broadcasts, live stats, the Stetson women's basketball twitter feed (@StetsonWBB), and the new HatCheck text messaging system will provide in-game updates as well.
