Hatters Host Annual Elementary School Game Thursday

After traveling over 6,000 miles and playing six in a row on the road, the Stetson women's basketball team will finally return to the Edmunds Center Thursday to begin a four-game homestand.  The Hatters will host Warner (5-6) at 11 a.m. in Stetson's annual Volusia County Schoolchildren game.  Over 1200 students from seven local elementary schools will cheer on the Hatters as they seek their ninth victory of the season.

The game will also be broadcast live on WatchESPN and WSBB radio.

Stetson completed the recent road swing with a 4-2 mark, including wins over Robert Morris, Weber State, Northern Kentucky, and High Point.

"It was a tough road swing.  I am glad it's over," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said.  "It has been good for us, but it is going to be great to get back. Overall, I am pleased with our effort."

Stetson returns home with a new all-time leading scorer in program history.  Brianti Saunders set a new high-water mark Monday by scoring her 1,618th career point at Chattanooga.  She averages 16.8 points-per-game this season.

Kennedi Colclough has provided a spark off the bench in the past two games, scoring 10 points each at High Point and Chattanooga. She was named the ASUN Newcomer of the Week on Monday.  Saunders was named Player of the Week.

Tickets for Thursday's game start at just $7.00 for general admission and can be purchased online or at the Hatters Ticket Office in the Edmunds Center.  Stetson University students, faculty and staff are admitted free with a valid ID.

Live stats, the Stetson twitter feed (@StetsonWBB), and the HatCheck text messaging system will provide live updates as well.
