Viaud Takes Flight Title at CofC Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C.—Stetson's Alexe Viaud captured the B3 singles championship on the final day of the College of Charleston Invitational on Sunday.

Rain shortened the event for the second time in three days, eliminating many of the singles matches that were schedule to be played.

Viaud, a sophomore, went a perfect 3-0 in singles action on the weekend, winning her final match of the tournament in straight sets (6-2, 6-2).

Freshman Danielle Peele was the only other Hatter to secure a victory on Sunday, winning her third place match in B1 singles by a 6-4, 6-2 score.

The Hatters continue their fall season when they participate in the annual Bedford Cup, Sept. 30-Oct. 2 in Tampa.
