Hatters Roll Past Lipscomb to Complete Road Trip Sweep

McKenna Beach records career-highs in points and assists

Nashville, Tenn. – Stetson shot 60 percent from the floor and hit eight 3-pointers and cruised to a 91-66 ASUN road victory over Lipscomb Monday night at Allen Arena.

Brianti Saunders recorded 24 points, six rebounds, and six assists as the Hatters (13-5, 2-1 ASUN) topped 90 points for third time this season.

"Bri did everything for us today," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said.  "She is scoring; she is passing. She attracts a lot of attention, so I think her assists are going to go up because she has to find an open teammate.

"I thought Breana Bey had a great game in the post," Bria added.  "She just really went to work and did a really nice job for us in there."

Saunders hit four 3-pointers in the game and went 8-for-8 from the free throw line to top the 20-point marker.  Bey added 17 points on 7-for-10 shooting.  McKenna Beach, making just her sixth start of the year, had career-highs of 15 points and eight assists.  Sarah Sagerer added nine points, eight rebounds, and four blocked shots.

Brittney Chambers and DeAsia Beal helped spark the team off the bench.  Chambers scored 13 points, 11 of which came in the fourth quarter, and Beal registered seven points and four boards.

"I thought DeAsia Beal came off the bench and gave us really good minutes," Bria said.  "She executes at a high level and we really need her.  She and Brittney Chambers did a really good job."

The Hatters also held a 34-24 advantage on the glass.

The Lady Bisons fell to 3-15, 0-3.

Stetson will begin a three-game homestand at 1 p.m. Saturday against USC Upstate.
