Hatters Renew Rivalry with ASUN Foe Jacksonville on Wednesday

Stetson men's basketball renews one of its oldest modern rivalries on Wednesday when the Hatters visit Atlantic Sun Conference foe Jacksonville, at 7 p.m., in Swisher Gym. The game can be seen on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app, and can be heard in Volusia County on WSBB AM 1230 and 1490.

The Hatters (8-13 overall, 1-4 ASUN) and Dolphins (13-9, 1-4) are meeting for the 84th time in a series which began in 1958. The teams have met every year since 1999, when JU joined the ASUN. The Dolphins lead the all-time series, 48-35. Since joining the ASUN, JU has an 18-16 advantage.

Stetson is looking to bounce back after dropping a 97-86 decision to USC Upstate on Saturday. Sophomore forward Derick Newton scored a game-high 30 points for Stetson, but five Spartans scored in double figures as Upstate pulled away late.

Jacksonville has lost three straight after being swept at home last weekend by Lipscomb and Kennesaw State.
