Hatters Back in Action Monday vs. Jacksonville

The second round of Atlantic Sun Conference play begins on Monday when Stetson men's basketball hosts Jacksonville, 7 p.m., at Edmunds Center. The game can be seen on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app, and can be heard in Volusia County on WSBB AM 1230 and 1490 or worldwide on myam1230.com.

Stetson (9-14 overall, 2-5 ASUN) will try and build some momentum following Saturday's thrilling 88-74 win over North Florida. The Hatters trailed by nine points at halftime then out-scored the Ospreys, 56-33, in the second half. Stetson shot 74 percent after intermission and limited UNF to 28 percent shooting in the final 20 minutes. Derick Newton led four Hatters in double figures with 26 points.

Jacksonville (14-10, 2-5) dropped a 78-56 decision at FGCU on Saturday. J.R. Holder led the Dolphins with 21 points.

Monday's game is a rematch of a wild affair from last week, when the Dolphins won a shootout against the Hatters by a 103-92 score.

Tickets for Monday's game start at $7 and can be purchased on line at www.GoHatters.com or by calling the Stetson Athletic Ticket Office at (386) 738-HATS (4287).

News & Notes
•Sophomore Derick Newton (963) needs just 37 points to become the 3rd Hatter this season and 35th in program history to reach 1,000 career points. Divine Myles (1,158) and Brian Pegg (1,019) each reached the milestone earlier this season.
•Newton has been on a scoring tear of late with four consecutive games of 20 or more points, including back-to-back 30-point efforts against USC Upstate (30) and Jacksonville (31). His 108 total points in the last 4 games is the most by a Hatter since Jason Alexander had 120 during a four-game stretch in the 1995-96 season.
•Stetson has won 7 of the last 10 games played in Edmunds Center, but the Dolphins escaped with a 96-88 overtime win last season
•A win on Monday gives Stetson 8 home wins, the most in the Corey Williams era
