FCS Bowl Sunday

Football Michael Damon

Boudreaux, Fallabel, Martin to Play in FCS Bowl in Daytona Beach

The football season at Stetson University may have ended several weeks ago, but for three players there is still football to be played. Stetson football players including linebacker Jeb Boudreaux, defensive end Jeff Fallabel and defensive back Eric Martin will be competing in the FCS Bowl at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach this Sunday, December 10 at 1:30 p.m.

Being played for the fourth year in a row, the FCS Bowl is an annual post-season college football all-star game that consists of the top seniors from FCS and Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) from around the United States. It is the only elite and current post-season all-star game scouted by the National Football League and Canadian Football League teams. Each year the game has had participants sign contracts into the NFL and CFL.

The FCS Bowl will feature the National Team against the American Team. Boudreaux, Fallabel and Martin will all be on the same team, representing the National Team.

The FCS Bowl is the second game of a football doubleheader at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium that day. The 1:30 p.m. start time is an approximate time as it will follow the National Bowl (an all-star game for elite seniors amongst Division II and Division III teams) which starts at 9:30 a.m.

Admission to the game is $20 and the fee covers both contests. Seating is first come, first serve and parking is free.

For fans interested in watching at home, the game is being streamed online at flofootball.com.

Boudreaux, who was already named defensive first team all-PFL for the second year in a row, was a stalwart for the Hatters in 2017. He led the team and league in tackles with 115 and tackles per game with 10.5. His 10.5 tackles per game is currently the eighth highest average in the NCAA FCS Division.

Fallabel was also a stalwart for the Hatters with 27 total tackles, including 5.5 tackles for loss, along with 1.5 sacks. He was named a PFL Honorable Mention this season.

Martin, also named a PFL Honorable Mention this season, was second on the Hatters with 85 total tackles, six pass breakups, three quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery, which he returned for a touchdown in a game at Marist on Sept. 9. He averaged 7.7 tackles per game which ranks in the top 100 of all NCAA FCS Division players.
