Hatters Fall 7-1 in Series Finale

Nashville, Tenn. -- Lipscomb scored seven runs on 14 hits to take the ASUN series finale 7-1 over visiting Stetson Sunday afternoon at Draper Diamond.

With the victory, the Lady Bisons (29-12, 5-4 ASUN) won the three-game conference set two games to one.

The Hatters (24-11, 2-4 ASUN) scored their lone run in the top of the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Jazz Vasquez.

The Bisons scored runs in each of the first five innings to gradually pull away.

Lipscomb starter Mandy Jordan held Stetson to just five hits in the game.  Ashly Smith led the Hatters with two base knocks, while Tara Walding, Molly McLaughlin, and Maggie Friits each collected one hit apiece.  McLaughlin and Smith each had four hits to lead Stetson in the series.

Tori Perkins, Brooke Hutto, and Chelsea Hostetler each saw action in the circle for the Hatters on Sunday.

Stetson will travel to Spartanburg, S.C. to face USC Upstate next Friday and Saturday.  All three games will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
