Chambers, Pruitt Named ASUN Player and Freshman of the Week

Chambers Earns her Fourth Player of the Week Honor This Season

DeLand, Fla. -- Following standout performances in Stetson's 68-55 win over UNF on Saturday, Brittney Chambers (Orlando, Fla.) has been named the ASUN Player of the Week and Michelle Pruitt (Homewood, Ill.) has been named the ASUN Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday. 

Chambers collects her fourth Player of the Week award this season.  The senior guard scored 23 points and grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds against North Florida. She registered her fifth double-double of the season and her third double-double in ASUN play, while topping the 20-point mark for the seventh time this season.

Chambers is averaging a league-best 17.3 ppg overall and she ranks second with a 19.2 ppg scoring average in conference play.  She is averaging 21.8 ppg over her past four games.  Chambers is the first Hatter to earn four Player of the Week awards in the same season since Victoria McGowan did so in 2011-12.

Pruitt, meanwhile, collects her second Freshman of the Week award this season.  The 5-10 forward scored 13 points and pulled down five rebounds in Saturday's victory.  She shot 44 percent from the floor (4-for-9) and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line.

Over her past four games, Pruitt is averaging 12.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

The Hatters (13-9) are 4-2 in ASUN play and in third place in the league standings.  Stetson will visit second-place Jacksonville at 7 p.m. Thursday.
