Ashirova, Doubles Play Leads Hatters at ITA Regional

The doubles team of Brooke Milner and Lucie Renault reached the Round of 16 during the first day of main draw action at the ITA Southeast Regional at Georgia Tech's Byers Tennis Complex in Atlanta.
 
Milner & Renault defeated a tandem from Florida, 8-6, in the Round of 32. Sophomore Danel Ashirova was also victorious for the Hatters in singles play, winning in straight sets over Alee Clayton of Georgia.
 
"I thought we played some high level of tennis today against some big schools," Stetson head coach Travis Sandlant said. "It was a great win in doubles to start the day off. We know tomorrow will be just as tough and look forward to the challenge."
 
Regional play continues tomorrow and runs through Oct. 23.
