Hatters Conclude Play at ITA Regional

Stetson men's tennis wrapped up play at the ITA Southeast Regional on Saturday.

Playing at the University of Georgia, the Hatters won just one of four singles matches and were forced to withdraw from doubles play due to an injury to sophomore Antoine Sanchez.

Freshman Christian Mills was the only Hatter to emerge victorious on Saturday, winning a consolation match in straight sets. Fellow freshman Louis Gorregues was knocked out of the qualifying in the third round, and Tim Gennes lost in consolation play.

"Christian did a good job turning things around today and learning the lesson from yesterday's match," Stetson head coach Christophe Noblet said. "Antoine had to pull out with is never fun, but he will be back very soon. Tim and Louis are still learning to adjust to college tennis and what it takes to be successful at this level. Overall, it was another great experience for this young group, a lot of lessons learned that will serve us greatly at practice next week".

The Hatters next compete in the Bethune-Cookman Invitational. Oct. 26-28 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
