Men's Tennis Athletic Communications

Gennes, Laka Reach Finals at Juan Varon Invitational

Stetson freshmen Tim Gennes and Josh Laka advanced to the finals of their respective flights as the Hatters continued play at the Juan Varon Invitational, Saturday at the Florida Tennis Center in Daytona Beach.
 
Gennes reached the finals of the C Flight, while Laka is in the finals of the E Flight.
 
"Josh and Tim had good efforts today, as they embrace a more aggressive playing style and attitude," Stetson head coach Christophe Noblet said. "It is far from perfect, but they are slowly defining their game plan and playing more confidently. We are looking forward to watching them compete for a tittle tomorrow."
 
Laka and Gennes also had a successful day in doubles, where they teamed to pick up a win in consolation round of the B Flight.
 
The Juan Varon Invitational concludes on Sunday.
