Hatters Advance at Varner Memorial

The Stetson doubles team of Vicky Geurinckx and Lucie Renault reached the finals of the C.L. Varner Memorial Invitational, Saturday at Rollins College in Winter Park.

Geurinckx & Renault picked up a pair of wins on Saturday, and will square off against a tandem from the host school on Sunday for the tournament championship.

Several other Hatters enjoyed success on Saturday as well. Freshmen Ellie Dolde and Anna Dovgopolyi each won their consolation matches and will face each other on Sunday in the fifth-place match for Flight B Singles. Charlotte Solli will play for the Flight B consolation championship on Sunday.

Both Megan Horwitz and Renault picked up injury-related victories in the Flight B consolation round.

The Varner Memorial concludes on Sunday.
